Warranty Rates

Fahren has always sought to offer a cost-effective repair solution without compromising on quality. In order to ensure this is being achieved, it recently conducted a comparative study of its warranty claims against other brands. It was discovered that not only were its warranty rates much below other brands within its price point, in fact, Fahren’s warranty rates were substantially lesser than quite a few premium brands (for total claims received against sales in the last calendar year) and comparable to the number of claims accepted by the said premium brands.

Numerous brands within the budget sector concede to inferior quality pad material using cheaper raw materials like steel fibre to achieve the price target and end up receiving excessive claims for noise and squealing. This also translates into a false economy for the consumer as they cause accelerated disc wear. With parts made to OE specifications, further reinforced by stringent quality control measures, Fahren customers do not face similar quality issues.

However, factors need to look at instances where warranty claims are wrongly made (up to 75%) when the issues lie elsewhere:

  • Pad failure due to heavy grooving caused by being fitted to heavily worn discs
  • Not lubricating or using an incorrect specification of lubricant, where necessary

Other causes of warranty claims being rejected include not cleaning discs and caliper’s when fitting new pads and not following the fitting instructions properly. Factors looking into these simple guidelines when dealing with warranty claims can save time and money for everyone within the service chain.
