BGA and FPS Launch New Timing Chain Kits

BGA have recently launched a range of Timing Chain Kits to the aftermarket.

BGA have recently launched a range of Timing Chain Kits to the aftermarket. FPS has previously taken 13 of these new releases into stock and has already added a further 184 kits to range at the end of the second quarter in 2009. The full range is set to incorporate approximately 200 Timing Chain Kits, covering well in excess of 800 applications. Applications covered by the initial 13 references include Vauxhall Astra, Vectra and Signum models, as well as the Nissan Micra, Almera and Primera.
Demand for the Timing Chain product range, with particular attention to kit solutions, has arisen from the recent resurgence of engines designed to accommodate such components. In 2009 alone, 50% of new vehicles manufactured in Europe have been equipped with timing chains. In the UK this figure has reached 30% and as much as 80% of vehicles produced in Japan have timing chain systems in place. However, we should not forget that timing belts, for which FPS distributes the Gates brand, still form the majority of the current car parc, with 75% of vehicles registered in Europe using this design.
